Story

This documentary explores Riafn, a unique Alpine communication system developed by mountain communities across generations. Inhabitants of the Alps created this distinctive dialect using calls and vocalizations originally used to communicate with livestock across vast distances. The film examines how shepherds and farmers integrated these animal calls, songs, and natural echoes into their daily lives, transforming the mountainous landscape into a living soundscape that helped them navigate isolation and connect with their environment.
