Story

Director Thomas Heise assembles archival footage spanning from the late 1980s through 2008, documenting the transformation of Germany across a pivotal historical period. The film pieces together visual material from East Germany and beyond, allowing images to form new meanings and connections beyond their original context. Through this collage of found footage, Heise creates a meditation on memory, historical change, and how the past continues to reshape itself in our understanding.
