Where to watch Synchromy (1971) in Singapore

Story

This experimental animation explores the relationship between sound and visual form. Director Norman McLaren creates a seven-minute work where geometric shapes and patterns move across the screen in response to an original electronic soundtrack. The audio itself was generated through an unconventional method—by photographing abstract shapes and converting them into sound through optical technology. The film becomes a visual interpretation of this synthesized music, merging audio and imagery into a unified artistic experience.
