In an alternate 19th century Japan where Western technology has introduced mechanical dolls and steam-powered devices, a young man named Hiwou witnesses his village destroyed by the Wind Gang—a group intent on using these creations to forcibly reshape society. Escaping with his friends and a massive mechanical companion, Hiwou sets out on a journey to locate his father, hoping their reunion will provide the strength needed to stop the gang's violent campaign and restore peace to the nation.
