Snoopy's Beagle Scouts troop is at risk of closing, so they set out into the wilderness to collect performance badges and keep their group alive. At the same time, Charlie Brown's group spends the summer at Camp Spring Lake, and both sets of characters meet during their time outdoors. Every episode has two segments with a brief interlude where Snoopy and his scouts show fundamental Beagle Scouting ideas. The camp attendees go on trails, jump in water, gather by fires and participate in typical outdoor summer activities. The show tracks Snoopy's push to get his scouts their badges alongside how Charlie Brown and his group mature through their camp stay.
