Story

Catherine is a smart young woman. She spent years caring for her aging father, Robert, a famous mathematician who suffered from mental illness. After his sudden death, she deals with heavy grief. She also fears inheriting his unstable mind. Her practical sister, Claire, arrives with plans to sell the family home and take Catherine to New York. Meanwhile, Hal, one of Robert's former students, searches through the late professor's old notebooks. He hopes to find one last piece of hidden genius. Soon, Hal discovers a notebook containing an important mathematical equation. Shockingly, Catherine claims she wrote the complex work herself. However, neither Hal nor Claire believes her. They assume the advanced mathematics are far beyond her abilities. Catherine must fight to verify her true authorship while proving her own sanity to those closest to her.
