Story
A fugitive takes refuge in a travelling circus, performing as a knife-thrower who operates without the use of his arms. He conceals his true physical abilities to evade capture. Complications arise when he becomes entangled in a romantic triangle involving the ringmaster's daughter, who harbours an aversion to physical contact with men, and the circus's muscular performer. His growing obsession threatens to lead everyone toward disaster.
Why watch

- Lon Chaney delivers a physically demanding performance in a transformative role
- Unusual circus setting combines drama, romance and darker psychological elements
Good for: Viewers interested in 1920s cinema and psychological thrillers; not recommended for young children given the dramatic and thriller elements.
