Story

A documentary-drama hybrid set in Beirut that weaves together narrative and reality. The film follows a former member of a radical Japanese organization as he recounts a complex story involving multiple characters in a war-torn city. Through shifting perspectives and retellings, the work explores themes of loss, broken ideals, and the difficult process of confronting one's past. The narrative remains deliberately open-ended, inviting viewers to draw their own conclusions.

Why watch

  • Experimental blend of documentary and drama by director Eric Baudelaire
  • Explores the psychological weight of political disillusionment and conflict
  • Unconventional storytelling that challenges traditional narrative structure

Good for: Viewers interested in arthouse cinema and complex narratives; not a family film due to its mature themes.
