Story
Daisy works long hours at a shop while caring for her ill mother, feeling trapped by her circumstances. When a failed suicide attempt leads to her wrongful conviction, she ends up behind bars. Meanwhile, the neighbor whose damaging testimony sealed Daisy's fate grapples with the weight of guilt. This film playfully reimagines the conventions of 1950s prison dramas for contemporary audiences.
Why watch
- Comedy-drama blend with a cast featuring Karen Black and Mink Stole
- Director Steve Balderson's tongue-in-cheek take on classic women-in-prison cinema
- 95-minute film that subverts familiar genre tropes with humour
Good for: Viewers who enjoy offbeat comedies and genre parodies; not confirmed as family-friendly due to its dramatic prison setting.
