Story
This experimental short film reimagines a famous early cinema moment through a contemporary lens. Rather than following the straightforward movement captured in the original Lumière brothers' footage, the work presents workers in a factory setting whose movements create unexpected patterns and spatial relationships. The piece engages with cinema history while exploring themes of labour and industrial life through visual composition and formal experimentation.
Why watch
- Experimental short film exploring early cinema history and its evolution
- Director Siegfried A. Fruhauf's distinctive approach to visual storytelling and composition
- Six-minute work that reinterprets a foundational moment in film language
Good for: Viewers interested in experimental cinema, film theory, and avant-garde art will appreciate this conceptual work; not designed as mainstream entertainment.
