Where to watch Forests (2022)

Story

This documentary explores a forest transformed by water, told through the perspectives of Indigenous communities connected to the land. As the camera moves through mist and floating particles, submerged evergreen trees emerge from the depths, revealing a landscape reshaped by human intervention. The film weaves together historical narratives with the present-day reality of the flooded woodland, using ambient percussion and sound design to suggest the presence of a hydroelectric installation. Through this sensory experience, the film examines how industrial development has altered natural environments and the stories of those who witnessed this change.
