Story

Filmmaker Petra Costa embarks on a personal journey to reconnect with her estranged older sister Elena in New York. Both sisters are actresses whose lives have been shaped by Brazil's turbulent political past. Armed only with fragments from their shared history—old home videos, newspaper clippings, and diary entries—Petra pieces together their story across continents and time.

Why watch

A deeply personal documentary that blends family history with Brazil's political landscape
Directed by Petra Costa, who appears in and explores her own life on screen
Combines archival footage and intimate storytelling in an 82-minute intimate portrait

Good for: Those interested in personal documentaries and Brazilian history; not confirmed as family-friendly viewing.
