Where to watch Drawn and Quartered (1986)

Story

This experimental short film explores how cinema can fragment and reorganize visual information. Director Lynne Sachs divides the frame into four separate sections, each containing portions of two figures. By using optical printing techniques, she creates a visual puzzle where viewers see a man and woman distributed across these compartments. The work investigates how film's unique properties shape the relationship between form and meaning, challenging conventional ways of presenting human subjects on screen.
