Story

This documentary explores Europe through nocturnal imagery, examining a continent grappling with its identity and place in the world. Director Nikolaus Geyrhalter captures night-time scenes across the region—workers, urban landscapes, and everyday moments—to reflect on Western civilization's self-perception and rapid economic transformations. The film weaves together fragments of contemporary life: labour, news cycles, political discourse, and human existence, inviting viewers to reconsider familiar surroundings through a meditative lens.
