Story

A documentary that enters Merksplas prison in Belgium, where individuals deemed mentally ill criminals are held indefinitely with no fixed release date—except for the symbolic year 9999. The film presents the stories of those confined within this system, exploring a place where conventional time and justice lose meaning. It offers an unflinching look at lives caught in institutional limbo, examining the experiences of people existing on society's margins without access to treatment or hope of freedom.
